2003_#13 |
-
I traced her on the canvas using the 'girl with flowers' pattern, and began to base in the background.
-
It's another night time theme shot, so I put on a mixture of payne's grey and french blue.
-
Her dress was brushed in white with streaks of dark blue.
-
Facial outlines were done in amber and her hair was done in burnt umber with a light brown/yellow mixture to add directionof the hair.
-
The lake was a combination of blue and white then brushed together to make it look mushy.
-
Sierra brown was added to add the streaks of red to the lake and near her body for shadows.
|
session #2 |
Wednesday, July 23, 2003.
-
Retraced girl to canvas... shrunk the head and darkened the sky above the lake.
-
Added the fleshtones, to her face and legs, and arms. Bared the arms to make a sleeveless dress.
-
Used my own hand to model fist and brought the lake into her figure more, including to the arm held behind her back. Created a better form to the dress with white and put in some blue detail lines.
|
session #3 |
Tuesday, July 29, 2003.
-
Evened out the lake on both sides of her head/body, and temporarily shortened her hair.
-
Touched up the flesh tones, and her dress.
-
Added the sparkler box using dark blue, light blue to add dimension, and yellow letters.
|
session #4 |
Wednesday, July 30, 2003.
- Added red to sparkler box.
- Began the firework in the sky... with a red base, then a cad red, burnt umber, and orange mixture.
- Then added the sparkler in her hand with a payne's grey wand and a mixture of white and burnt umber for the gold highlights.
- Lightened her hair and lengthened it again.
- Added socks to her feet.
- Added dark green, burnt sienna, and burnt umber splotches for grass in front of and beside the girl to define the lake. Added a green/yellow mixture for tree on far side of the lake.
|
session #5 |
Tuesday, August 5, 2003.
-
Added Gold to the firework with white hightlights.
-
Added the white stars. Then I added gold to the stars to add three-dimensionability.
-
Added glitter to the sparkler.
-
Blue washed the back arm.
-
Put in colors in her hair.
-
Added her hair ribbon with white trimmed in blue/grey for ribbon details.
-
Using the same blue I added the look-like lace trim to the bottom of her dress.
|
session #5 |
Darkened the lake on both sides and added shadows to the lake. Incorporated the blue-wash to the lake while adding shadow to the back of the girl's arm.
Added dimensions to the face with flesh colors and sky colors.
Added signature in gold.
Added more to the grass.
Picked a Frame in gold...

-
added detail to her socks with payne's gray, white, and clear glitter.

-
rewashed a mixture of blue and medium to darken the shadow effect on the back of her arm, dress, her legs and socks.
-
redid the yellow on the letters of the sparkler box.
|
session #6 |
- Touched up the bottom lace on her dress with blue.
- redid her finger tips and nails.

- touched up glitter on her socks after the blue wash was done.
|
2003_#13 |
-
Drug out the colors from her hand to emphasize the shadows.
-
Added payne's grey to the bottom of her dress to create the shadow effect there. Then drug it downwards to emphasize the shadowiness.
-
Now it will be dried a bit, sprayed to accent the colors and hold the glitter in place.
-
Then inserted in the gold frame.
-
